Doesn't look too bad. Even if it is a copy of Gears 2 with a resistance like setting (which if you think about it, the setting for the future was invented in 1984, well before Resistance was even though of, think that one over), it will probably be great. They seem to have GRIN developing it, and I've enjoyed their games. The PC versions of GRAW were fantastic for the most part (GRAW2 being quite a bit better). I'll give this a chance since they have a competent studio behind it. They're also...

Condemned 2 and Dark Sector were great games. Hell, managed to get Dark Sector for 35 bucks (CDN) when it came out. Quite a few little gems that came out this year nobody really gave much attention to.

It's funny how the download version has DRM but the retail disc does not? Oh well, will be picking this one up from futureshop tommorrow. Thank you Ubisoft. Hopefully, if this goes well they will release some patches that strip the DRM off of all the other games I already bought from them.

If your worried about RROD you can always liquid cool your 360, works like a charm (brought mine back from the dead months ago and it works like a charm. And it glows green too). Of course, all those fancy parts cost more then the 360 usually, but that's not the point.

Personally, I've been entertaining the idea of liquid cooling one of these Jasper units for awhile now. Is it worth it? No, of course not. But it's a fun project. Nice to know the inside layout is just like the old...

I like the idea of hardware acceleration for physics calculations, and even dropping in another graphics card (albeit probably a cheaper one) isn't much of a problem, other then the way Vista handles it. For those of us with an ATI card in our system and are using Windows Vista, we cannot add in an Nvidia card since Vista only allows one set of graphics drivers to be installed. Windows XP users, however, can utilize this combination. So, if you have say a 4870 and you add in an 8800GT or some...

Microsoft should have put another disc format in the 360 initially, but HD-DVD and it's expensive blu laser would not have been good. A special, proprietary format based on the red-laser DVD spec would probably have worked out fine for the most part. Adding even just one more data layer to the discs would have given developers much more space to work with.

The second thing Microsoft should do (and still can) is open up the possibility for better storage options on the 360. Nobody...

I second that motion. LoD2 would be a sweet game. How Sony managed to go through the entire PS2 generation without making one is beyond me, but I'll take one now then none at all.

They should have just left the whole chipset in there from the start. I know it probably costs them a couple more dollars to make them but is it really that bad? I'm sure that eventually the PS2 chips could be shrunk down quite a bit more and made cheaper.

For me, this game would be alright in it's current form, but not at this pricetag of 1200 MS points. Too high for an old game like this. Had it undergone some more drastic graphical improvements, then I could accept that price. It'll probably come on sale sooner or later, then that will be the time to get it.

A lot of women like country, and a lot of guys as well, it's big business. It's not my cup of tea either, but hey they are doing this to make money, can't blame them. All you have to do is not download the songs and your fine, doesn't affect you guys. I wouldn't mind some Johnny Cash though.

Maybe it's Guitar Hero for the PSP, or for the SNES, heck maybe even the Atari 2600 who knows (actually, someone made a Guitar Hero style game for the Commadore 64 I do believe). Seriously they are really starting to rape that franchise for everything it's got. Why not take world tour and release some decent songs for the game, or make some expansion packs. I'm done buying Guitar Hero games for awhile now, it's just getting so stale.

Now CoD:MW2 not so bad. I like getting a new C...

So it let's me access the Marketplace and that's it. Hell, they could have just used a website instead if this is all the client will do. I was expecting something much better then this, but leave it to Microsoft to know how to shoot themselves in the foot better then anyone else.

I agree, if a game says Games for Windows on the cover, it should also be Games for Windows Live compatible, but that should go double for any game that also has a 360 version. I know some companies would rather use their own services for multiplayer instead of Live for whatever reasons, but the single player experiences could run just fine.

MY biggest disappointement was that the Games for Windows (sans Live or with it) was supposed to be a high set of standards that would ensur...

Or..

Step 21a: Go out and borrow it off of one of your buddies who already bought it so Rockstar doesn't get any more money.

Naww seriously, but people should boycott the PC version until they fix it and remove Securom. Apparently, here it is an issue with the game not running properly. I wonder how many other games it affects as well (is it the reason Fallout 3 likes to crash so much?). Honestly, only Fallout 3 really seems to be the only Securom game I have that li...

Already reported to be a culprit. This version apparently crashes a lot in the background, and in doing so, also crashes the game. Lame.

And the Windows Live update only supports Vista 32 Bit??? Hello, isn't 64-bit support MANDATORY in all Games for Windows titles. Jeeze.

Here's a list they added of known problems to the article:

The crash-to-desktop bug is rampant, a "fatal zlib20 error". No known solution yet.
* Securom must be running at all times while the game is running. Closing it results in the game closing too.
* SecuROM will often crash, resulting in your game not starting at all.
* The reason the menu screen was black for me for so long is because it must download a file every time you start the game, since t...

So much for Games For Windows standards. There supposed to be there to ensure the customer that the game will run properly, on both x64 and x86 based Windows XP or Vista and go through beta testing. Seems Microsoft has been letting any game just take the Games For Windows title and call it a day. I'll be holding off on this purchase.

Oh I buy all my games it's just such a pain in the ass I understand why some people pirate games for those reasons. I also understand a lot of people are cheap and will do it anyway, like with World of Goo. I bet Good Old Games is going to suffer much of the same problem, but I'm sure all of those games being offered there have been pirated for ages long before bit torrent and Peer to Peer download services.

At this point in time, DRM is useless in it's current form since the games it is trying to protect have always been cracked and put up on bittorrent long before they come out in stores, PC or console (ok, not PS3 yet but just wait). People are no longer copying games off of their friends that buy them, they download them off complete strangers around the world. So limiting installs to a couple machines is again useless. Your friend didn't buy the game? Who cares, go and get it from a torrent ...
